The Dimcom EDEN VILLA ESTATE is a one stop ''farming & environment'' station, it is a 3.0 ha ( 7.5 acres piece of land and was acquired in April 200. However the ''Eden'' concept was conceived in 2005 and implementation started immediately. Before then, the land used to be a maize or wheat plantation. After assessment of how the region was potential with growth of all types of fruits and indeed of very high quality, we thought of establishing one acre orchard. We felt that having missed a chance to live in Eden due to sin committed by Adam& Eve, we thought we can establish our own .
After the establishment of the one acre piece of land where –orange ,tarjned ,loquats cherimoya , avocadoes ,pawpaw ,figs ,lemons, tree tomatoes , passion fruits, guavas, white sapotes, macadamias, apples, sugarcane, bananas, mal berries, yams, cassavas, sweet potatoes and mangoes-in 2005,in 2006 more fruits were planted in 2006. More passion were planted (1007 plants) in 2007 and in 2008, pineapples and tree tomatoes were planted. About 7 acres were under fruits.
In this farm, bee keeping is also practiced. There are 10 Kenya Top Bar Hives(K.T.P.H) in a well set apiary(measuring 20m by 20m). In the apiary is a circular traditional hut which was the original apiary which currently serves as a place for relaxing.
There are other livestock kept. At the moment, there are 2 zero grazed cows. There are also traditional chicken, 3 dogs and 5 cats.
The 0.6 acres compound has a double perimeter fence-chain link and live fence of kei apples. There is only one entrance to the compound. In the compound there is a park measuring 20m by 20m. In it there are four traditional circular huts which serves and expected some functions in future. There is a “birds –feeding –station” where wild birds are given food and water. There is also a “nyama –choma zone” in a barbecue. There is an open where people can meet and discuss issues (no politics). In the middle of the area visitors relaxes. There are a lot of potted and other planted flowers. There are over ten species of indigenous tees that constantly keeps the park cool.
In the compound, there are also a trees, flowers and fruits nursery. This has been fulfilling domestic demands. It has helped to make the “Eden Estate” look awesome.
